Investing in anything can be risky and there's as much money lost as made with poor portfolio management. There's no such thing as a risk-free investment - whatever the publicity and hype says. Generally, the more expansive the promises, the greater the risk and the claims of quick and easy returns are the ones that are most likely to be broken but, with good and careful methodology, there are some sound investment opportunities around - Real Estate in Sarasota Florida is one of the best of them.

We're selling our house and have accepted an offer from a buyer. What are
the buyer's rights during the inspection period? Are we obligated to let
them into our house to take measurements after they accept the offer but
before the home inspection? Do we have to let the gas company into our house
so they can provide the buyers with an estimated cost for installing an
external gas line to a potential BBQ grill? Do we have to allow the buyers
such access after the inspection?

Typically, the Purchase Agreement will lay out what the buyer's rights
are.  If my clients need access to the house beyond the home
inspection, I typically write something like "buyers may have access to
the home at mutually agreeable times in order to measure for window
treatments, carpeting and other redecorating purposes."  Local custom
may expand upon those enumerated rights but would be less binding if
not formally expressed.

Our state's purchase agreement basically says "if it isn't in writing,
it's not part of the agreement."  Your state may not have similar
language so you need to review the language.

I ask this, because our agent tells us that we must oblige these buyer's
requests to sell the house. The problem is, I'm currently living in this
house with a 18-month old son and it is very inconvenient to have people in
our home constantly. I understand that we must do certain things to sell the
house, but what are the limits?

Unless there are other issues afoot, my experience is that most sellers
and buyers are able to work these kinds of things out.  In your shoes,
I'd probably ask my agent to communicate to the buyers' agent that
you'd like to grant access but need to be sensitive to your son's
schedule and needs.  Generally buyers don't want to unnecessarily
inconvenience the seller.
